Time to register for 60th Annual Meeting

Greetings Home and School Members:

The P.E.I. Home and School Federation’s 60th Annual General Meeting & Conference is coming soon, and we extend this invitation to all members right across P.E.I., to join us April 13, 2013 at the Rodd Charlottetown Hotel, Kent Street, Charlottetown, 8:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Plans are well underway for another great meeting with networking, sharing best practices, and new learning initiatives workshops in the afternoon for Home and School Association members. Invite all parents in your school by announcing at upcoming Home & School meetings, circulate to your email groups, share on Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and Websites.

Hon. Alan McIsaac, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development will speak during the morning session 11:30 to 12 Noon.  He will provided an overview on a number of items including Education Governance, School Calendar, Assessments, etc.

There is still time to register for Semi-Annual Meeting

There is still time to register for the PEI Home and School Federation's 59th SEMI-ANNUAL MEETING coming up on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2012, in the Kinkora Community Centre/Kanata Club, in downtown Kinkora, PEI.

Hon. Alan McIsaac, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, and Jane McMillan, Superintendent will be in attendance.  Fred Osborne, incoming Chair of the appointed school board and other incoming trustees will attend our reception at 5:45 p.m.  Refreshments will be provided.   Sterling Carruthers and Dr. Donna Murnaghan will present a brief overview of the PEI-Youth Health survey  results (Grades 5 - 12).  The meeting will close at 8:30 p.m.

Annual Meetings

In April of each year the Annual Meeting of the PEI Home and School Federation is held in Charlottetown. Delegates from local home and schools and parent councils gather to consider resolutions, discuss areas of mutual interest, meet with our partners in education, and elect members of the board of directors. Official responses to resolutions passed at Annual Meetings are heard the following autumn at the Semi-Annual Meeting.
